That is a MOD for Half-Life 2. A MOD! It looks professional!

For those who don't know, Black Mesa Source is a total remake of the original Half-Life, in the Source engine. Basically, Half-Life 1 with good graphics (and other minor differences).

The game will be completely free (You are required to have at least one source engine game to play it. Portal, TF2, HL2, CSS, L4D, Ect.). God I can't wait until this thing comes out. It looks so godly.

That game is so great, it's not even funny. I seriously play this game too much. I've been playing this game since 2.0 (which was released more than a year ago), and it's still just as much fun. And, again, it's also a MOD. So, like BlackMesa Source you need a Source game to play it, but otherwise it's completely free.

No, Half Life Source is the exact same game as the original Half Life (graphics included), just on the Source Engine.

Yeah I saw that. It looks amazing for a free MOD. I can't wait for them to finish it. Valve will probably buy the game from them eventually like they did with Garry's Mod.

Technically, Garry's Mod wasn't bought out by Valve, Garry Newman (sp?) still works on it, although it's sold on Steam. Something along those lines <_<

And I wouldn't want Valve to sell it.. that would mean I would have to buy it D:

They did? That's a stupid idea.
And not only is it stupid, it's completely illegal for them to sell anything that they made using the Source Engine, unless they have a license from Valve (or something like that ;p)

OH MAN fuck yes.. as one of the people who were introduced to the Halflife universe because of Portal, I was completed blown away and awestruck my halflife2 when I finally came around to it, and felt so out of the loop of such an incredible game, I love HL2 to death and was always envious of the people who where with halflife from the beginning,. If HL2 was able to hit me with such impact, imagine what its doing to the fans that followed it religiously from the beginning??

Hopefully now I can get a chance to taste that, even if Im late to the game.

You should buy the original Half Life, the graphics fail horribly (they work ;p) but the game is still fun. Which reminds me, I actually kind of feel like playing it now c:

Actually, you need Half-Life 2 and Counter Strike: Source.

Why would you need TF2 and not anything else for it to work? HL2 Mods don't work like that.

Also, if this ever comes out I'll laugh, they've been working on it forever.

Yes, you can use TF2, Portal etc.. They all use the Source Engine, which is what this uses. And since all of the models/textures/levels/etc.. is custom for Black Mesa, you can use any Source Game (ie, you wont need HL2 for textures/models). Same thing for Empires.

ooh, ooh, will they make the toryline intelligeble? That's one thing about hl1, the entire game was like "WTF!!?!??! WHY IS THIS HAPPENING!?!?!" I prefered blue shifts story, I actually understood it. I CANT WAIT!!!!
